The project was to come up with a name and a brand for jazz-bar in central Reykjavík where the vibe is Great Gatsby meets Speak-easy bars of the roaring 20’s.
VERKEFNIÐ
Nafn og útlit fyrir nýjan djass-bar í miðbæ Reykjavíkur þar sem andrúmsloftið er Great Gatsby mætir Speak Easy þriðja og fjórða ártugar síðustu aldar.
NAFNIÐ
Skuggabaldur er íslensk þjóðsagnavera. Hann er afkvæmi fress (jazz-cat) og tófu (foxtrott) með banvænt augnaráð og skotheldan feld. En eins og sannur köttur mýkist upp við seiðandi tóna, mat og drykk.
The name comes from an icelandic mythical creature. Skuggabaldur is a breed of a cat and fox. In jazz slang a cat is a respected musician and the fox trot was highly popular in the 20’s and 30’s. So a breed of the two was fitting.
